Giving Good

The Salvation Army, founded in 1865, is an international religious and charitable movement organized and operated on a quasi-military pattern and is a branch of the Christian church. Its membership includes officers (clergy), soldiers/adherents (laity), members of varied activity groups and volunteers who serve as advisors, associates and committed participants in its service functions.

Every year we will help children from our school district through four important programs. Many of these children face a Christmas with no gifts, no meal and no prospects of a festive holiday. The programs receiving our support this year are: 1. Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) 2. Program for Assisting Students in School (PASS) 3. Teenage Pregnant & Parenting Students (TAPPS) 4. Migrant Students

To meet the needs of economically disadvantaged students in need of school supplies to begin the school year. Since over 80% of students are on the free or reduced lunch program, many families struggle to meet the basic needs of their children. This project fills over 4,000 students’ school supply needs.

Outdoor Learning Center at Early Childhood Schools. Changing our outdoor environment means we are encouraging children to explore the world around the. The learning opportunities are unlimited as are the possibilities for involving the community in helping our little learners with gardening, water exploration, music, movement an performance and developing a sense of stewardship and love for nature.

Park cleanup, either as part of one of our two annual events (April and September), or we can coordinate with you on other times

The Main Place provides new clothing and personal items for homeless teens, victims of fire, domestic abuse, those who are poor, in need and on the verge of homelessness.

World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. We believe in a full solution to poverty and injustice. We provide emergency assistance to children and families affected by disasters and conflict, partner with communities for long-term solutions to alleviate poverty, and advocate for justice on behalf of the poor.

Volunteers and donations are needed for scheduled events, such as the Heart Walk, typically held in Oct. For upcoming events as well as ongoing office volunteer work.

Animal lovers can volunteer their time to bathe, groom, walk and socialize with furry companions. Volunteers are also needed to clean and sanitize animal housing areas.
