Description:

Seamark Ranch is a nurturing Christian home and family system that gives children from families in crisis the tools they need for a brighter future. Through a family home model, a specialized residential school and the lessons of life on a working farm community, Seamark Ranch provides the ideal setting for love, stabilization, healing, education and empowerment. Seamark Ranch’s vision is to break the generational cycle of failure that affects the families we serve, and to nurture purposeful living in children who have experienced the impact of broken families. The children of Seamark Ranch will be equipped with a worldview and life skills that will enable them to productively contribute to our community. Our children will be healed in heart and formed for service.

Impact: In early 2000 the foster care system in Florida was struggling to provide the nurturing care and developmental support children needed to overcome the loss, grief and trauma caused by family crises. Statistics were beginning to demonstrate widespread failures of the Foster Care system where children continue to disruptively move from placement to placement. For eight years now, Seamark Ranch has worked to change the face of childcare for the fortunate ones who find their home at Seamark Ranch. Our children are not one of the statistics. Seamark provides a safe, loving two-parent home where children can settle and experience life in a secure and stable community. At Seamark School an 11 year-old boy reading at a pre-kindergarten level will get one-on-one support and successfully graduate from high school. At the horse barn a 13 year-old girl with selective mutism will receive emotional healing and begin to communicate again. A 16 year-old will learn relational skills in individual counseling sessions and finally know love. Seamark is the solution to the increasing need to help children who, through no fault of their own, have been left alone in this world. As you look through our website you will see hopeful faces of children providentially blessed with opportunity that is all too rare for those who require out-of-home care. Whether our children go on to be adopted, are eventually reunified in their biological families, or grow up with us, all are family!
