Capital City Community Centers (Cap City) is a non-profit social service agency in the heart of Providence, RI. For nearly seventy years, they have remained committed to helping members of the community live healthy lives. Their mission is to support individuals and families who have difficulty across life domains with the basic needs of food, housing and clothing to child and senior care.

Impact: Currently Capital City Community Centers manages four major programs: Capital City Food Pantry, Smith Hill Early Childhood Learning Center, Lillian Feinstein Senior Center, and Financial Literacy Services. The organization is always open to the involvement of volunteers. Volunteers often wish to help as a teacher’s aide at their Early Childhood Center, or serve lunch or organize group activities at their Senior Center, or help stock the shelves or distribute food at their Food Pantry. Another volunteer option is to help with office work. There are opportunities for groups of volunteers as well.
