Description:

Visitors can help create healthier families in Irving by simply donating (either collecting or raising funds for) measuring cups and spoons, which health coaches at our local charity clinic can use to teach about cooking and portion control

Impact: In the right hands, simple tools help create a healthier community. Helping those who prepare food do it in a healthier way is vitally important, especially in a community where up to 80% of children in the public school classrooms are either medically or morbidly obese.

Project Availability:

Volunteer Responsibilities: Volunteers can bring/donate toward the purchase of the measuring cups and spoons, and if desired, can write notes of encouragement of the families that will receive them.

Attire: N/A

F&B Provided for Volunteers: Charity can provide refreshments if the participants want to write notes

Option to Move Project to a Different Location: Volunteers or staff from the Irving Community Clinic can set up a table top display, if requested, at the venue to receive the donated items and/or funds
