Giving Good

Whether reading to children, stocking shelves at a food pantry or delivering meals to home-bound seniors, there are many volunteer opportunities available every day.
Volunteers are vital to the strength and mission of United Way of Central Ohio, as well as to the strength of our community.

Cornerstone Christian Fellowship is affiliated with Christian Missionary Alliance. Volunteer opportunities include community garden work and building relationships with refugees in the Hilliard area.

Faith Community exists to bring the transforming love of God to our people, our families, our neighborhood, and our world.

We are a neighborhood-based church in Central Hilltop in Columbus, Ohio. We seek to be a diverse group of people seeking God and serving our neighbors! We have programs for kids, teens, families, men & women. Projects include community clean up, tutoring, service projects.

The mission of Urban Connections is to connect people with Christ and each other in order to develop our community together.

RESTORING HOMES
In Baton Rouge, the early stages of flood recovery continue as homes are gutted, treated, and restored following the record rainfall flooding from August 2016.

In Detroit, volunteers will serve with partner community organizations and churches already working to bring stability and growth to neighborhoods that are as much as 75 percent unoccupied at present.

In New Orleans, we continue the work of restoring family homes in New Orleans damaged by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. We’ve made tremendous progress so far and the vast majority of New Orleans is now restored, but the sheer scope of the initial devastation means that there are still several thousand homes to go. The families we are working with today have been on the long road to recovery since 2005 but are still determined to return home.

Volunteers help with a variety of projects, including day camps, child care programs, and residential services

The Bike Project continues to work to improve access to bicycles for everyone through Open Shop, Earn-a-Bike, and maintenance classes. In addition to serving as a hub for sustainable and equitable transportation, the Bike Project also serves as a social learning space that promotes youth mentorship, community building, and mechanical intelligence.

With your help, lunch bag by lunch bag, we believe we can reach our goal of ending hunger among preschool-aged children in Houston. It’s easy to become involved and see the immediate difference you make in the lives of children five years old and younger!

When you identify your area of interest, Projects With Purpose will coordinate your Volunteer Experience from start to finish! Together, they create an opportunity for team building that creates loyalty, goodwill and provides a lasting contribution in an area that needs your help!
