Description:

Volunteers help us inspect, sort and box donated food or non-food items so that we can distribute those items to our 800 non-profit agencies such as shelters, emergency pantries, low income daycare centers and soup kitchens. Volunteers will be given complete instructions at the start of their scheduled volunteer shift.

Impact: The need in our 24 county service area continues to grow and is currently over 527,000 people living in poverty, this includes over 188,000 children and 40,000 seniors. Our staff here at the food bank is small and we rely heavily on volunteers to help us sort and box over 60 million pounds of donated goods each year. Volunteers save us 6.4 million dollars each year which in turn can be used to feed our neighbors in need.

Project Availability:

Volunteer Responsibilities: Inspecting, Sorting and Boxing food or non-food donated items. Some light lifting, bending and standing is required.

Attire: Must wear closed-toe shoes. Please wear comfortable clothing as you will be in our warehouse.
