Description:

Habitat for Humanity builds new homes for families in need of affordable housing. Volunteers assist with all aspects of the building process — framing, roofing, installing siding and drywall, painting, and installing trim. Volunteers will be led by trained staff. All materials and tools will be provided. Water will be available on site.

Currently, due to COVID-19, volunteer opportunities are limited. Please consider ways you can help from home during this time: https://www.habitatcltregion.org/volunteer/ways-to-help-from-home/.

Impact: 25,000 families in Charlotte live in substandard housing or pay more than 30% of their income for housing. Rents have risen over 5% in the last two years. Habitat for Humanity Charlotte is building 52 houses this year to meet the need. Be part of the effort to house a family.

Project Availability:

Volunteer Responsibilities: Volunteers need to provide their own lunch and work gloves. Volunteers should be ready to learn a new skill and eager to work.

Attire: Sturdy enclosed shoes and clothes that can get dirty
