Hospitality House of Charlotte

Since 1985, Hospitality House of Charlotte has carried out its mission to support healthy outcomes, provide stability, and strengthen community for patients receiving medical care. Our 20-bedroom House in close proximity to Charlotte’s world-class hospital systems allows patients and their family members to remain close to their doctors, continue their care, and manage their health progress prior to returning home. In addition to private accommodations, the House provides a fully stocked kitchen and pantry, daily necessities, laundry facilities, and a caring environment.
Volunteer projects can be scheduled based on your group’s availability.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina Volunteer

Volunteers help us inspect, sort and box donated food or non-food items so that we can distribute those items to our 800 non-profit agencies such as shelters, emergency pantries, low income daycare centers and soup kitchens. Volunteers will be given complete instructions at the start of their scheduled volunteer shift.

Habitat for Humanity New Home Construction

Habitat for Humanity builds new homes for families in need of affordable housing. Volunteers assist with all aspects of the building process — framing, roofing, installing siding and drywall, painting, and installing trim. Volunteers will be led by trained staff. All materials and tools will be provided. Water will be available on site.

AniMeal Routes

Living independently and safely with a companion pet is a great source of joy in an older adult’s life. In some cases, seniors are unable to care for their pets. The LifeCare alliance Senior Pet Care program provides clients with assistance in taking care of their pets while still maintaining the client’s ability to remain in their own home. Volunteers assist clients with delivering pet food through the AniMeal Program. The program also assists with financial costs of vet visits, surgeries, procedures that care for the overall healthcare for their pet.

Hatchling Rescue Eco-Tour

The adventure begins when you hit the sand with Sea Turtle Oversight Protection staff after a brief presentation. You will have a rare opportunity to possibly witness newborn sea turtles emerging from a nest, while seeing the threats they face and observing our trained staff rescuing turtles that mistakenly scurry to the bright city lights. After all are safely recovered, celebrate their release at the ocean’s edge as these ancient mariners get another chance to continue their epic journey of survival.
100% of the Turtle Trek proceeds help us fund our rescue operations. Turtle Treks take place in evenings during peak sea turtle nesting season (June- September).Our goal is to educate and inspire you during your time with us and ensure a fulfilling experience. But if you are fortunate enough to witness these amazing animals, it will be something that you will never forget​.
